In life, there are a few things that do not change. I believe we should focus on those things. And it requires thought to know the things that do not change in different areas of our lives.
In business, there are things that do not change. In starting and running a family, there are things that do not change. In a profession, there are things that do not change. And this goes deeper, in context. Within each profession, there are concepts and knowledge bodies that do not change and are the underlying principles that every other trend and changes stand on. Standards improve on them but do not eliminate them.
It's like communication. How we communicate has changed but we will always communicate. How we archive our work has changed, but we will always need to archive our work.
So, I believe we have to understand the underlying principles on which trends build. When we identify those principles, we learn what they entail fundamentally. This will help us to be focused whenever we might want to be influenced by changing trends.
