The Duality of Queen Amina

In the 15th century, Zaria had a legendary queen called Amina. She was reputed to be a fierce warrior who, according to oral legend, after conquering enemy armies in battle, would choose a lover from one of their warriors and then execute him the next morning after making love to him.
