For context, before this day started I had been told that the cassava really needed to be ready before the end of this day. So, I slept the previous night knowing that I was going to get up early enough to start working on it.
So, at 7:56 AM after my quiet time, I posted on WhatsApp the new episode of ANewDay -a daily scripture reading. Afterwards, I locked the building gate as the car was taken out for the day, not to be driven back in till 7 PM or afterwards.
I started work. It required peeling off the back of the cassava, washing it with water and packing it in a bag. From what felt like 9 AM, after breakfast, this ended by what also felt like 6 PM. It was a lot of cassava. (I had anticipated it to end by 12 PM. My schedule had been shattered. But I just controlled myself from being hysterical over my timetable and the things I had planned to work on. My phone's wallpaper has a text on it that says, "Have a good attitude." And I believe that's the centre of living a peaceful life with oneself and with others: a good attitude. So, I kept my cool.)
Afterwards, accompanied by a neighbour, we took the cassava to the mill. The way to the mill could be metaphorized as "Life." Wet and yucky (because it rained throughout the whole day.) Wheeling the woody shrub wasn't easy. Or perhaps, I should say it wasn't easy for me. The way I handled the barrow suggested that I needed some training in using the hand-propelled vehicle. Perhaps!
After everything, I took a cold shower and had some tea with bread. Now, sitting on my desk typing this before dropping my body for some good night's rest. What a day! Nothing I did today followed my schedule of activities necessary for the furtherance of my goals. But, I guess, there's an agenda towards one's goals that's not captured by such one. For those agendas to be useful and profitable, one must meditate on them actively to draw lessons for life and living. And I guess that's what my mind will do as I lay down to rest.
10:31 PM. What a day! My whole body needs to rest. I will just lay me down and rest. Waking up is not in my power to put together, so I do not have to bother how it works. That's God's unique expertise. I'll let Him do His thing: I'll open my eyes and just notice, "Wow! It's a new day. A new opportunity to be world-class. Thank you, Lord!" Towards 11 / 4 / 2025. Cheers!
